Lightweight Stroller Reviews

Finding the right lightweight stroller can take a bit of time and effort. It can also be a bit frustrating, especially if you don’t know what to look for. Many first time buyers are under the impression that most strollers are the same, but that’s far from the truth, in both features and cost.

Many stroller models claim to be lightweight, but when you get them, they are anything but. So how do you find the right lightweight stroller for your needs? Keep reading and find out.

Accessories Add Weight

One thing that a lot of parents don’t realize when purchasing a lightweight stroller is that the extra accessories on other strollers add weight. When you start adding in extra storage, cup holders, child trays and more, you add weight. Try to keep accessories at a minimum.

Some accessories that you should never give up include a small storage basket, a sun canopy, a five point harness and a seat that reclines. These are the most important convenience, safety and comfort features that a lot of lightweight strollers leave out.

Look for a Lightweight Stroller 20 Pounds or Less

A lot of really great lightweight strollers are less than 20 pounds. Many weigh as little as 11 pounds. The lighter the stroller, the easier it will be to carry. You can also look for a stroller that offers a carrying strap, making transporting the stroller that much easier.

Other Features to Look For

There are also some other features that you will want to keep your eye out for when searching for a lightweight stroller. Things like a compact fold, locking fold and swivel wheels make your trips much more enjoyable. These do not add to the weight of the stroller but they do add to the functionality and maneuverability.

Consider Adding Your Own Extras

If you are looking at lightweight strollers but are still disappointed by the lack of storage, then consider adding your own. You can find attaching cup holders, storage baskets and more for almost any model of lightweight strollers. You can also find accessories that will offer your baby further protection, like extended sun shades and rain covers. Depending on where you live, these extras might be worth the extra cost.
